Two long-serving chefs from the upmarket restaurant Il Mulino will be opening an Italian restaurant in Long Island City.

The restaurant will be opening at 21-50 44th Drive where Da Gianni’s Ristorante was located, next door to LIC Market.

Il Falco’ on 21-50 44th Drive had its Grand Opening yesterday.

The owners were kind enough to let us take a tour of the facilities, which are shown below. We couldn’t help but come away impressed with what we saw.

We also snagged a business card from the high-end Italian restaurant, which lists a website of ilFalcoLIC.com, but that site is still under construction.

Il Falco is an Italian restaurant that just opened in Queens headed by to former chefs from the Il Mulino empire. Il Falco is still in soft-opening phase so take my review with a grain of salt.

They opened in the erstwhile Da Gianni space (a rather sad Italian restaurant that served middling food).

I love Italian food and was looking forward to a new “upscale” Italian restaurant opening in Queens.

Whatever you get here, be it the chicken Parm, the seafood risotto, or the Blue Point oysters, you’ll receive complimentary bruschetta at the beginning of your meal and a limoncello shot at the end to cap things off. New LIC restaurant excels at classic Italian cuisine

If experience is any indication of success, the chefs at Long Island City’s new Italian restaurant, Il Falco, and the locals who head there, are in for a real treat.

Segundo Tinishanay and Bolivar Perez worked as chefs together for over 20 years at Il Mulino in Manhattan, serving some of the biggest celebrities in America, before heading to LIC to embark on a new venture with their own restaurant.
